A lifelong book nerd and story addict, Hilary Harper saw radio’s exciting possibilities as a storytelling medium from a very early age. To date she’s done music and arts, current affairs, lifestyle talkback and magazine-style programs. She started out on ABC Radio Melbourne as a traffic reporter, slipping in the occasional haiku, and she presented the Saturday morning show with playful curiosity for ten years. She now presents Life Matters on ABC RN, and is much in demand as an interviewer and panel chair at The Wheeler Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas, and the Melbourne Writers Festival. She is also a writer and reviewer. She has two children and lives in Melbourne.
