Kate began working as a graphic artist and has since worked with digital technologies in various formats, completed a Certificate IV Electronic Publishing, and worked in pre-press and graphic design. For the last fourteen years, she has worked as a landscape designer and has enjoyed creating and designing gardens and buildings, metal sculptures, furniture, and signage for both residential and commercial clients. Kate has written articles on plants and gardening for The Age, magazines, and other gardening publications. Her first book, Kitchen Gardens of Australia, was published by Penguin in 2012. Her art practice has entailed everything from still life and botanical paintings to bookbinding. Her most recent passion is printmaking with a focus on botanical and garden themes.
