Living in the idyllic coastal town of Ocean Grove has helped shape Andrea Robertson into the award-winning singer/songwriter she is today. With music that is as natural as it is soulful, her vocals fuse together blues, roots, folk, and country with a dash of rock, combining the old and new seamlessly and creating a delicious treat for music lovers. Much like the ebb and flow of the ocean, her music is varying, emotive, and thoroughly captivating.
Robertson has two independent releases to date, both of which have featured Australian Blues Legend Chris Wilson on harmonica. She was announced the dual recipient of the 2017 Queenscliff Music Festival Emerging Artist Grant, gaining a coveted spot in the Festival’s stellar line-up as well as receiving grant monies for a further recording taking place in 2018.
Proving the power of her song writing, a number of her original songs have been shortlisted for the ASA Songwriter’s Competition in both 2016 and 2017. Beyond her achievements, Robertson highly values encouraging fellow emerging musicians whilst undertaking her own journey, teaching music to those wanting to pursue the craft, and investing in the local community of music lovers (including Queenscliff’s Tides of Welcome Community Choir), whilst being an inspiration to females looking towards a career in the industry.
