Mark Smith lives, writes, and surfs on the West Coast of Victoria. His writing has appeared in Best Australian Stories, The Big Issue,and Review of Australian Fiction, amongst others. He won the 2015 Josephine Ulrick Literature Prize andthe 2013 Alan Marshall Short Story Award. His first novel, The Road to Winter, was longlisted for the 2017 Indie Book Award for Young Adult and shortlisted for the 2017 West Australian Young Readers’ Book Award and the 2016 Aurealis Awards.
