Barry Hill has won Premier’s Literary Awards for Poetry, History, and the Essay, and was a finalist of the 2009 Melbourne Prize for Literature. He is possibly best known for his multi-award winner, Broken Song: TGH Strehlow andAboriginal Possession. Necessity: Poems 1996-2006 won the ACT’s 2008 Judith Wright Prize, and Naked Clay was shortlisted for the 2013 UK’s Forward Prize. Barry was Poetry Editor of The Australianbetween 1998 and 2008 and a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Melbourne between 2005 and 2008. His latest books include Peacemongers and a collection of poems,Grass Hut Work.
