For the third year in 2017, the QLF has put a high priority on the FREE Kids Day.

Alice Barker (QLF Vice President) has assembled a wonderful cast of nine authors, for a full One Day Program at the Point Lonsdale Primary School.
The Queenscliffe Literary Festival will provide a dedicated school day to the children of the kindergarten, day centre, and three primary schools in the Borough of Queenscliffe.

The aim is to increase literature awareness in children.

In 2015 the dedicated school day featured 11 authors and illustrators speaking about kids’ writing and illustration and how a book is made. Many teachers and parents provided feedback following this event saying that their children were reading more, writing more, making books, or aspiring to become an author or illustrator.
The 2016 festival featured a fabulous line-up of children’s authors and illustrators including: Danny Katz, Mitch Vane, Michael Wagner, Adrian Beck, Chrissie Perry, Alice Zaslavsky, David Lawrence, Patrick Guest, Annie White, Lucinda Gifford and Ailsa Wild.

Many thanks to the Borough of Queenscliffe, Christians Bus Co. Queenscliff BIG4, Queenscliff Bowling Club and the QPLCE, in making this day possible.
